Park Days

We are loving the beautiful fall weather that we've been having. Knowing that it won't last forever, we're taking every opportunity to hit the parks. Here are a few pictures taken last week, plus a video of Matilda sliding!!

Pumpkin Patch

Yesterday we met Nana, Papa and Paxton at the Goebbert's Pumpkin Festival. It was a beautiful, crisp fall day...perfect for picking pumpkins, hay rides, doughnuts and hot apple cider! The farm was quite amazing. There were pig races, pony and camel rides, corn mazes, farm animals, a pumpkin eating mechanical dinosaur, singing chickens and so much more.

This fall, Matilda measures in at 2 and 1/2 feet tall!

This fall, Nate measures in at 6'2"!

We were pretty surprised to see a giraffe

Pax and Matilda checking out the bunnies. They also enjoyed seeing the sheep, goats and cow. Matilda had absolutely no fear of the animals and if we would have let her, would have hopped the fence to play.

When we stepped into the field, Matilda's first reaction was "Wow!"

I'll take them all!

Pax and Matilda trying to find the perfect pumpkin...or at least one that they could carry.

Getting closer to her size

She found one!

Here is the truck that launches pumpkins a quarter of a mile into the field.

What a fun morning we had. Usually Matilda goes down for her nap at 10 sharp. She had so much fun, she held out for an entire 2 hours.

Strapped in and ready to go home. She was out before we even hit the concrete.
Already looking forward to going again next year!

Wisconsin Dells

Last month we drove up to the Wisconsin Dells for a fun filled weekend! This place has to be the water park capital of the world...I've never seen anything like it! Nate had a blast as he went up and down the water slides, as Matilda and I floated the 1 ft deep lazy river. I wish I had pictures of Matilda in her inter tube, walking the river. She thought it was so hilarious when she would come up to another toddler floating along and their tubes would bump. This place will be tons of fun as she gets older.

We also went on a little hike...

Matilda cheering Nate on...

And we met up with Susannah and Kevin! Here, Matilda is demonstrating her social anxiety.

Overall, we had a great time riding the waves and it was so great to spend some time with Susannah and her soon to be in-laws!!! Perhaps we'll make it a tradition!

Stitch

Saturday, Matilda had her first trip to the Emergency Room. Not one of those "first" moments that you ever want to happen. While playing that morning, she took a spill, face first into the corner of the banister, cutting her top lip open. At Children's, the doctors did a phenomenal job treating her wound giving her just one stitch. They also tried their best to keep Nate and I calm. Matilda was so brave. We are very thankful that she didn't get seriously injured and are really hoping that we won't have to go back anytime soon.

Here are a couple of pics taken last night of her almost healed lip and stitch:

The stitch is coming out this afternoon...yay!!
